Wii Details Revealed for American Release

In a press conference Thursday morning, Nintendo of America announced the release details for it's Wii console.  The system will be available November 19th for $249.99.  In the box you will recieve the system itself, one remote controller with Nunchuk attachment, sensor for the controller, power cable, A/V cables, and a copy of Wii Sports.  Remote controllers will be sold seperately for $39.99, and the nunchuk is sold seperately for $19.99.  Also, they revealed that Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be a launch title for Wii, with the Gamecube version to release in early December.

After Nintendo said that the Wii would be "less than $250" at this year's E3, speculation of a significantly lower price ran fairly rampant; some said $200, some said $175, a few pipe dreamers even guessed $150.  Almost no one speculated the most likely price, $249, which in hindsight seems a little silly.  Nintendo is, when you get down to it, a business; if they can sell a system for $249 and still be significantly cheaper than the competition, of course they are going to.  Some are dissapointed, some are upset, some are ecstatic; everyone seems to have an opinion.  The big question, though, is will you be getting one come launch day?
